This review is dedicated to the memory of former DPS president Ray Smith 1915-1988
We start the year with the Diesel day on the NYMR with 55 009 ALYCIDON. Number 8’s cab makes visit to Copmanthorpe carnival. Members day on the NYMR where 55 007 puts in an appearance. Then it’s off to the Great Central Railway to sign an agreement to move number 19 to the railway. The big lift number 15 is lifted to replace a traction motor. Number 19 en route to the GCR via Bescot Open Day. Tulyar joins number 16 on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. The review is rounded off by a tribute to the late R. J. Smith.
