The three crankshafts on their cleaning stands on a pallet. The middle one is CA - from the bottom position in the engine - and is not corroded at all, the other two are therefore from the top and have suffered a little. The large round objects on the opposite end to the gearwheel is a torsional vibration damper, there are two dampers on a 9-cylinder engine compared to one on an 18- as a result of the smoother operational characteristics of the 18-. Twice the bangs per revolution, see?
