20 years ago today

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the return to the main line of D9009 ‘ALYCIDON’ and 55019 ‘ROYAL HIGHLAND FUSILIER’, when both Deltics worked from King’s Cross to York and back on what became known as ‘Deltic Saturday’ – a very memorable day for everyone involved and on board the trains!

Unfortunately, with D9009 currently out of service and in need of repairs, plans for ‘ALYCIDON’ to re-visit King’s Cross earlier this month had to be put on hold until the loco has returned to service. Well wishers who want to see this Deltic back on the main line are invited to make a donation using the link button to the right or by CLICKING HERE. Many thanks in advance for your support.
