Depot update - May 15th/16th

D9009 - Work continued on D9009 with attention paid to some of the electrical cables.


D9015 - The cleaning out of the radiator bays was completed and are all ready for the radiators to be refitted. Continuation was made with the painting, the bottom of the bodyside received more attention and around the cab windows also received a coat of dark grey undercoat.


55019 - Work continued on 55019 cleaning out dirt/grease deposit in No.1 nose end and a coat of primer was applied. Some of the orange pipework also had the paintwork touched up in areas.


55008 Cab - The bufferbeam received its top coat of black and while the brush was out a start was made in tidying up the trailer frame that remains under the cab. The fire pull handle had the rust removed from the pocket and a coat of primer applied. The ETH box bracket was refitted to the cab as well as the 2 front windows being refitted with new rubbers.



In addition, here is a photo from new volunteer Andy Brennan showing the cables which are being prepared for pulling out of D9009 as a result of the March 2019 incident.
