A Christmas Deltic Ride!

Your Christmas wishes have come true! 55019 will be running at the Great Central Railway on 28th December 2024.

There will be 6 services hauled by 55019 starting at 10:50 then 12:45, 14:30, 16:00, 17:45 and 19:15.

We also have an extra gift to anyone who is a member of the DPS! Simply show up on the day with a valid membership card and get your trip for the price of £14!

Members of the Friends of the DPS: your information is on its way to you. 

If anyone would like to get a refund of their £14 on the day they can do this by completing a memberships form to the DPS Friends Scheme and handing it in with a minimum donation of £10/month for 12 months.

The Railway are organising a selection of local brewed beers, Pale Ale, Bitter, Mild and a Cider all with Deltic themed names. The Griddle car will be open serving All Day Breakfasts as well as other foods, hot & cold beverages and snacks.

The DPS sales stand will also be there (yes we sell pint glasses for your Deltic Ale.)

There will be a raffle with the first prize of a Deltic Cab Ride at the GCR Spring Gala, dates tbc.

We have also booked the Veranda car for all 6 trips with trips 1,2,3 being for members of the Friends Scheme. Trips 4,5,6 we will be selling these 30 places per trip at £10 each to be able to ride next to the loco in at least one direction.

These last 3 trips can be paid on the day subject to a valid travel ticket or as an alternative drop us a message and we can get this sorted for you.
