Another fairly busy day with activities in several areas.
To start with just a couple of reminders. Next Saturday, 10th May is the Society AGM at the Great Central Railway, Membership card is required for members wishing free travel and access. 55019 will depart Loughborough at 09:50, there will be time to go to Leicester and back to Quorn before the AGM starts, after the AGM there will be a 15:27 departure from Quorn to Leicester and back to Loughborough via Quorn. Checking in at Loughborough station will start at 09:00 in the booking hall lobby. The Depot will also be closed as will BH on the Sunday, 11th plus the following weekend 17th & 18th due to the BH Real Ale Festival.
STORES. The old racking due for replacement with wider deeper bays was removed although some parts will be saved to help with building a new workshop area within the stores for the 'Delectricians' to work in and have a safe & secure store for cleaned, serviced and tested items.
It is planned to start rebuilding the new parts w/c 12th May.
As a result of this activity we must apologise to our visitors if some areas of the depot are temporally out of bounds, we do try to reduce this to a minimum.
The Depot had a good number of visitors including a gentleman from New Mexico who was relieved of much cash by the sale of an Accurascale OO gauge model of D9015, plus a membership, there are a few left if anybody is still looking for one, please go to the sales page on the website. The second hand books were also doing a very brisk trade, we have a good selection of quality books covering many aspects of Railways. One of the visitors has asked to come along and join the Volunteer Team.

55009. Both the painters and electricians were at work on 9, the paint job is now about complete with just a few areas left to finish, 'B' side is totally complete. There is about 1 day's work left to do. The new white marker discs were added to No 1 nose end.
Whilst doing some system checks the Delectricians found that there was a power supply issue, or being truthful, lack of to the P circuit from the main CCB. The 'P' Block of terminals is really difficult to access and it was getting late so a couple of the team are going in on Tuesday. This issue was also causing other problems due to lack of a power supply.
Work started on prepping the axle boxes for the tri-annual Ultrasonic Axle Test booked for 15th May and was completed the following day.
A new Eye Wash station was fitted to 9 as well as 15 adjacent to the batteries.

D9015. Also on 15th May 15 is having its air tanks inspected as the current certificate expires on the 25th so a start has been made in providing access for the contractor to do the work, again this was completed the following day. No other work was done on 15 due to concentrating on 9.
