Ton Up For Tulyar!

The restoration of Tulyar has now reached the point where the engineers can begin the long awaited “Return To Service” exam, after the faults with the vacuum brake system were rectified.

The loco now has a full dual brake system.

Part of the big exam is having the tachometers calibrated, and Geoff Armstrong visited the depot on Tuesday 10th February and calibrated all three locos.

Alycidon received some attention to small snags revealed during the recent test day and the strip down of PU 451 progressed towards removing the phasing case.

Over on 55019, work continues with the refurbishment of #1 end cab, #2 nose end and the engine room interior.

Well, it would have been rude not to record this moment during the tachometer calibration.
