Depot Report - Saturday 1st June 2024

Today saw work on power unit 430.  We have ramped up the work on this power unit since

power unit 451 failed in No.9 with a dephased phasing case.   We will not know what the

damage is until 451 is stripped down.

The phasing case was removed from the engine so we can access the coolant hoses in the triangle and replace them.  We couldn’t risk hoses that haven’t been used for over 42 years.  Some hoses we have in stock, however some are to be ordered in the week. 

The main and auxiliary generators were made ready to go away for overhaul.  The bill for this is expected to be £15,000 to £20,000.  So please donate to the society to help us return No.9 to 2 engine operation.
