Depot Update 20.05.24

There was a small working party of seven volunteers at the depot today.  Work was on power unit 423 and 430.  Two of the team cleaned the generator air intake castings for P/U 423.

Below: Work also recommenced on P/U 430.  This unit is being prepared for reactivation. The top hats protecting the quill shafts were removed and the quill shafts were disconnected from the crankshafts. This is the end onto which the main generator will be fitted once it has been overhauled.


The picture below shows the C-A crankshaft assembly.


Work on Tulyar saw No.2 headcode mechanism repaired and now works correctly.  The body brass identification plates were trial fitted as well.
